According to the project Sustainable Food Culture: from the past into the future and as students of Escola Básica e Secundária de Pinheiro - Portugal, we created a poster which aims to present gastronomic traditions and symbols of our country.
To create the poster we have been inspired by our geographic location marked by our coastline, and so we decided to choose a fish – the codfish. From various generations, codfish has been the main dish of our eating habits, as you can see on the left side of the plate. We also chose the blue colour in our poster due to the Maritime Expansion and the Discoveries. Once we really wanted to stand out the influence of sea water in our Portuguese roots, we have selected the fractal scales, as you can see on the right of the plate, which are similar to sea waves. Finally, for the background of the poster we wanted to portray one of the most ancient and known Portuguese cultures - the tiles.
